Passing the Torch

By Heather O'Neill

Colleagues, Partners, Associates, & Friends,

Above the Fold has been operating in Boston for the past 6 years and we are very proud of how far we’ve come. From a web design and dev shop trying to “do it all” from our various apartments to a successful UX design practice with dedicated office space, we have seen our share of company changes. And today, we have another change to share with you. ATF founder Joe Baz has left the company to pursue new endeavors, and I have assumed ownership and management of the company.

In 5 years as business partners, Joe and I have learned a lot about running a successful business. I’m proud of the team we built, as well as the relationships we’ve established with clients, colleagues and friends. And as Joe moves on to his next big thing, I am excited to pursue the future of Above the Fold; we have a solid team that is growing and evolving, as the user experience industry also evolves and grows. I am confident that we will continue to be a formidable force for web and usability good in the Boston area and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead.

I am incredibly grateful to have gotten to know and work with many amazing and talented friends, partners and clients – in Boston and around the world – during Above the Fold’s last 5 years. As we move forward, we expect to encounter many new ideas, opportunities, and challenges, and I invite you to join us in meeting them.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me, or leave a comment below.

Thank you!
